Gould" has been selected as one of the winners of the SeaYou maritime-themed competition organised by the prestigious @eugenidesfoundation.⁠ ⁠ The winning entries will be exhibited for two months at the Foundation, starting this afternoon.⁠ ⁠ The photo depicts the US Antarctic Program's research vessel R/V Laurence M. Gould on a resupply mission to the Palmer station in the Melchior Archipelago, off the Antarctic Peninsula. Merry Christmas! Arctic reindeer graze peacefully on the frozen island of Spitzbergen in the Svalbard archipelago, just a few hundred miles from the north pole. Santa is not visible on this photo but doubtlessly will be asking for their help when distributing gifts for the children...
